From bold to feminine, floral prints were all over the Spring 2014 runways.
What I love about a great floral is that you can transition it from day to night and spring to summer. I wore this floral dress to a Derby Day party a couple weeks back. Nothing brings out southern style quite like a Derby event. I was surrounded by big hats, feminine dresses, southern belles, and dapper men.
An over the top hat is a staple for Derby Day; I chose to wear my striped beach hat and my favorite floral print dress. Although mixing stripes and florals may not be an obvious choice to some, mixing prints can look amazing when done right. It’s also a great way to remix pieces already in your closet in a new and fresh way.
