The fashion world united in NYC last Thursday to kick off New York Fashion Week. While editors study the runway to determine what we’ll be wearing next spring, the rest of us are gearing up for fall fashion.
In case you need a fall refresher, here are a few of the major trends you’ll be seeing:
- That 70’s vibe will be everywhere this season because as it goes in fashion, everything old is new again. Expect to see suede, fringe, boho prints, floppy hats, retro silouettes and of course flared pants. I, for one, am thrilled to see something other than a skinny jean!
- Prints, patterns, and texture from paisley to tapestry to brocade were on many major runways. Layer on a vest, long blazer, or chunky knit to be on trend all season long.
- There was a Victorian-era vibe on many runways, but for a lot of us, it’s probably one of the less wearable trends. My favorite interpretation is through a high neck in lace or a tied bow blouse. It will look super chic with your flared denim or suede skirt.
