Christina’s Favorites | June

I am (finally!) back for another edition of my monthly favorites.

June shaped up to be a fantastic month… mostly because I spent a lot of it on vacation 😉 A few highlights from my trips below along with the products I carried with me along the way on my #CasuallyGlamTravels.

Coola Classic SPF 30 Face SunscreenCOOLA Classic Face Sunscreen in Unscented – For the last few years, I have been very diligent about applying sunscreen daily (wrinkles are not welcome here!) Lately, I have been making a conscious effort to incorporate more natural products in my everyday routine, so I made the switch to COOLA about 6 months ago. This SPF is a physical sunblock which means it reflects UV rays instead of absorbing them. It’s a 70% organic, plant-based formula that is non-greasy, antioxidant infused, and paraben free.  I usually apply a serum under the sunscreen as part of my routine and my makeup applies smoothly on top. COOLA also makes an organic SPF makeup setting spray (genius!) and the body sunscreen in mango smells SOOO good! This is definitely a brand worth checking out!

Tip: I have tried the matte face formula and didn’t love it. It has a chalky residue that seems to stick around. I suggest going with the classic.

JADEtribe Valerie Pom Pom Beach Tote Bag
JADEtribe Valerie Pom Pom Beach Tote – I saw this beach tote in the window of Kes boutique on the Upper West Side. I walk back and forth in front of their storefront just about daily and the tote kept catching my eye. I finally pulled the trigger one afternoon using the excuse that it would be perfect for my summer vacation. I learned at the store that JADEtribe is an ethically minded company supporting artisans in South East Asia. The textiles are organically dyed and hand loomed, so I felt even more confident about my purchase. It ended up being the perfect tote for my island adventure. It’s VERY roomy…you can pack a couple beach towels, some water, your reading material and sunscreen with room to spare. And those pom-poms? Don’t get me started on those…

Gap Low Impact Reversible Sports Bras
Gap Reversible Sports Bra – I love Lululemon as much as the next gal, but it pains me to drop a couple hundred dollars on a sports bra and yoga pants. I have found these Gap reversible sports bras both cute and functional for my workouts. I love the prints, and it’s like getting two for the price of one.  On vacation it cuts down on what I need to pack. I can do a quick hand wash, hang to dry and then reverse it for the next wearing. Gap always has a coupon so you can often score these for under $20 a piece!

Arcona Triad Pads

Arcona Triad Toner Pads – I have been using these Arcona Triad Pads for a few years now, and I don’t know why I haven’t mentioned them before. They remove makeup, cleanse, tone, and hydrate in just a few seconds, and they won’t dry out your skin. They are perfect for freshening up during a long flight or after the gym. I use them daily after cleansing, and they always seems to wipe up the last bit of makeup my cleanser left behind.

Es Torrent de Pareis Mallorca Spain

Es Torrent de Pareis, Mallorca

And last but certainly not least…Mallorca! Yes, the whole island (or at least what I saw of it). I spent nine glorious nights soaking in the sun in this beautiful place. It was the perfect mix of sightseeing and relaxing on the beach. A few highlights:

To Stay // Castell Son Claret in Es Capdellá, Calatrava Boutique Hotel in Palma

To Eat // Béns D’Avall in Sóller

To Drink // La Residencia in Deià, wine tasting at Bodega Ribas in Consell

To Do // Paddle board in Port de Sóller, explore the adorable hill town of Deià, watch the sunset over dinner at Béns D’Avall, drive Carretera de Sa Calobra to the beautiful beach of Es Torrent de Pareis (photo above), wine taste in Consell, explore the old town in Palma, charter a boat for the day on the Mediterranean.

That wraps up my June faves.  I’d love to know yours! Drop me a note in the comment box below.

Happy Summer!

XOXO,

Christina
